- Dr Jean-Pierre Kinet: Chairman
Jean-Pierre Kinet is Medical Doctor (MD) and specialized in Internal Medicine. He is a world-renowned researcher in Immunology. He was the director of the Allergy and Immunology Section of the NIAID (NIH, Bethesda, MD) and is now a Professor at Harvard Medical School, a position he has held since 1995. He founded the biotechnology company Astarix in 1995, which merged with Heska in 1997 before a successful IPO (Nasdaq Symbol: HSKA). He is a founder of the Paris based biotechnology company AB Science, which has successfully brought a new drug (a new chemical entity) to the veterinarian market. He is a SAB member of Synta Pharmaceuticals, a Lexington based company (MA, USA), which did a successful IPO in January 2006 (Nasdaq Symbol: SNTA). He is a Board member of a number of biotechnology companies including AB Science, Escoublac, Vaxon, Genewave and TheraVectys and is an independent director of UCB Pharma.
- Dr Pierre Charneau: CEO and CSO
Pierre Charneau holds a PhD. in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He has worked most of his career in the world renowned Pasteur Institute, France. Initially he was working as a member of the team that discovered the AIDS virus, a discovery for which the team's principal investigators received the Nobel Prize in 2008. He discovered the DNA flap in lentiviruses and set up the DNA flap technology on which he built a very strong patent portfolio with the Pasteur Institute. He received a grand prize award from the French Academy of Science in 2005 and the "Prix Line Renaud" from the French Foundation for Medical Research in 2009. He is the scientific founder and current CEO of TheraVectys.
